RayDisplace user Gallery
I'll post here the pictures I receive from rayDisplace users. To check what latest version of rayDisplace is have a look on Highend3d or here : rayDisplace
For the Mental Ray for Maya version it's here : rayDisplaceMental
(Also I promise I'll come up with a nicer page layout when I get the time, I know this looks more like a presentation for an Excel plugin than for a graphic tool)
Dave Cardwell – Weta Digital : Dave Cardwell has been the first one to wrangle with an unfinished version of rayDisplace and has been motivating me since then to get it to work! Seeing the impressive render of his left arm that he sent me I'm happy he wasn't disappointed... He used the Mental Ray version of rayDisplace to be able to bake 16bit depth TIFFs.
Check the Shake screenshot for a nice way to get rid of the UV borders artefacts (when baking a shader/texture to a file image it will stop at the exact UV border, you'll need to extend it a bit beyond that point or when using it, especially when texture map is being filtered, the « background » pixels will make their way into the filtering and cause ugly lines)

Please send me your nicest samples using rayDisplace! Don't hesitate to contact me also if you run into some problems (be sure to check the workarounds too) using it or have suggestions for improvements...
